History of the BelCCI branch of Grodno
The history of the BelCCI branch of Grodno begins on the June 8, 1963 when in accordance with the order of the Council of Ministers of BSSR on the base of the former Bureau of Commodity Examination of the business administration of the regional executive committee of Grodno an examining subdivision of the Belarusian branch of the National Chamber of Commerce has been established, and since the Republic of Belarus became sovereign it was transformed into the Grodno branch of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. From June 2000 the Grodno branch of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry is the Unitary service enterprise. Six subdivisions in the most industrial developed areas of the region are members of the branch.
The wide field of activity of the BelCCI branch of Grodno is conditioned the advantageous geographic location of Grodno region, which bonders upon the Republic of Poland and the Republic of Lithuania. The important part in the work of the enterprise are acting the euroregion “Neman”, which unites frontier territories of Belarus, Poland and Lithuania, and the free economic zone “Grodnoinvest” established in 2000.
The external economic cooperation of the BelCCI branch of Grodno with the foreign partners is developing. More than 50 agreements of cooperation are concluded with the regional Chambers of Commerce and Industry and other enterprises of Russia, Ukraine, Poland, Lithuania, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Moldova and other countries.
